Beneath

Beneath your mothers eyes,
are lies that she will never speak,
And somewhere in the night,
she has surely warmed the sheets,
Secrets far too strong to ever let unleash.
Her hot blood flows,
Though at times she may seem cold,
Stinging lines of virtue,
she spats from crooked lips,
But knowing does pour forth from her parting hip.

Love you she will always,
and unto her dying day,
But full on truth will never touch your face.
Hold her tight and she does flee,
but go not far can she with her broken wings.
Forced to live inside a cage in which she built for thee,
Her heart is here, but her body gone to hold a lovers spree.

Fear her not, and hate her less, for you could never be
As wild and untamed as she,
For you are as much of him,
as you could hope to be,
But in your fathers eyes her light will always shine.
Beside her here he will hold,
and watch her burn in time.
She will clasp his hand,
and always be his one,
But to turn his back and walk away,
will surely lead to pain,
And your mother slips into the night,
With another stray.

Between your mothers hopes and fears,
Are dreams and plans and play,
Always wishing that the temptations would quickly fade away.
Somewhere in this life,
her place is hers to stay,
But surely she can't find it,
while she fades away.

Your mother’s life is hers to have,
and yours she would save,
Even if it meant she wouldn't lived another day.
Though the truth is always another door away,
Remember that it's her choice to open it and say,
"Come on in and see you all my pain",
I'm guessing that she never will, so it's best to say,
I love you
and simply walk away,
When the times come that she tends to stray.
